pour vous

There's something about holding your hand and still feeling butterflies roaming in my stomach.  Even after four years and eight months of being your girlfriend, I'm still giddy!  (...is this lame?!)  For some, it's subjective.  Give or take a year or two, the relationship seems to be part of the daily routine.  People get used to each other, and sadly, they begin to tolerate each other.  They are unable to distinguish between the two . . .and only realize it when it's too late.  I never want this to happen to us.  Ever.  I don't want time to be the sole determinant of remaining in this relationship.  My number one reason for wanting to be with you is for you. You, Randy, are exceptional and I'm so appreciative of the person that you are and have been.  Toujours et à jamais mon amour.

Rants & Rambles

I)  In my personal opinion, every girl deserves someone who will fight for her.  Somebody that will especially place his pride on pause and demonstrate persistence. Somebody tenacious and honest at heart. I am far from knowing all the imperative components of a healthy relationship. . .however, when hardship begins to knock on the door, every girl deserves somebody who refuses to walk out.

II)  Since last Friday, I've gotten into the habit of waking up every morning and running two miles outside with my pup.  He gets more excited than I do running under the blistering sun.  (Why IE must you be so uncomfortably hot?)  . . .but, it's an effort to get myself back into shape after the school-related stress that kept me from stepping into the gym.  Oh and not to mention; to do some damage control from all the foods eaten back at school.  It's a convenience to have my car available on campus to do those late night study breaks to Taco Bell . . .but after a semester of doing so, I've come to realize that fast food and meat need to be off limits this summer (unless In N Out is involved ;)

III)  Ben Howard is such a talented musician.  His lyrics are original and especially refreshing.  Here are a few videos that I have unconsciously replayed a good 100x each ;).  I hope you enjoy!  His 2011 album, Every Kingdom, is wonderful and definitely worth your time.  Open up your Spotify app. and type in this talented fellow in your search bar.

" Promise"

"Old Pine" - (my personal fav).

"Keep Your Head Up"

IV)  I miss you.  A lot.  This whole ordeal isn't what neither of us want, but for the time being, it's what we need.

Dream Sweetly,

LAguna

Happy Monday!  Here are a few photos from Mother's Day Weekend:

For mother's day, we celebrated a day early.  My mom wanted to take a mini trip to her favorite beach spot:  Laguna.  We  were able to catch the sunset and grab dinner at Las Brisas, a restaurant overlooking the shore.  A combination of Mexican cuisine with seafood.  A few photos:

Summer '12

Summer is here!  Day four since I've been home . . .and it feels so good.  Looking forward to all the summer plans, hang outs, beach gatherings, gym'n, photo-opps, summer eateries & living in Glendale!  Additionally, my sister has officially moved in with us and it's nice to have her here.  She'll be studying for her boards to hopefully be a nurse here in California.  My dad is supa excited saying more than once, "I'll have three kids as my own personal nurses." ;)

California

T - 2 days until I'll see palm trees again.

"...And wipe the mark of sadness from my face
Show me that your love will never change
If my yesterday is a disgrace
Tell me that you still recall my name

So, the storm finally found me
And left me in the dark
In the cloud around me
I don't know where you are
If this whole world goes up in arms
All I can do is stand
And I won't fight for anyone
Until you move my hand..."

Currently on repeat.

Here's to the night.

Taking a much needed break from packing.  I've completed about 80% of what needs to be done.  Pretty productive considering I have another three days on campus before I head back home.  I. AM. SO. EXCITED. to finally be on summer vacay.  On top of that, I also received my paid internship position at Glendale's hospital.  (thank you to everyone who prayed for me!)  I'll be living out there from July until August, so come visit and we'll take a run to Porto's ;).  No but for real, I was having extreme panic attacks on the nightly thinking about whether or not I received the position.  God definitely tested my patience and I'm thankful that it all worked out accordingly.

Listening to the Young(er)

"...But as I pondered this a good while I came only recently to understand that it is our very presence that is important to the young.  They want us to be there:  not in their homes, perhaps, not watching them with a baleful eye as they go about their daily work, but there.  We assure them that life continues, and if we listen, we assure them that it matters to us that it continues."

--An excerpt from Carolyn Heilbrun's book The Last Gift of Time:  Life Beyond Sixty
